First Visit

Accepting & Welcoming New Patients!
During your first non-emergency appointment in our office, we will discuss your questions and concerns, review your medical history, and complete a comprehensive oral evaluation. Our comprehensive oral evaluation consists of any necessary low radiation digital x-rays, a dental examination for tooth decay, a gum and bone examination for periodontal disease, a temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and occlusal (bite) evaluation, and a head and neck soft tissue exam to screen for oral cancer.

After completing your comprehensive exam, Dr. John Jackson or Dr. John Morgan Jackson III will have the opportunity to evaluate and discuss your concerns and individual dental findings. More complex problems or concerns may require that we study your information and formulate a treatment plan to be reviewed at a separate consultation appointment.

Taking Care Your Oral Health & Cosmetic Needs
Before any treatment is initiated, we discuss any concerns or desires you may have about your treatment, esthetics, and comfort. We listen carefully to understand your individual needs and values. We understand that each patient has different desires and goals, so this discussion is an important part of our treatment planning process.

Appointments

Office Hours
Our general office hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The office is closed during lunch time from noon to 1:30 PM. On Fridays, our office hours are 8:00 AM to noon.
Arriving On Time & Cancelling Appointments
We respect our patients’ time and make every effort to remain on schedule. Therefore, we ask that you also do your very best to be on time for your dental appointments. We appreciate 48 hours notice should an appointment need to be changed. Each appointment time is reserved only for you. We do not double book appointments.

Insurance

We strongly feel that our patients deserve the very best possible dental care we can provide. At all times, you can be confident that we will always provide you with our best services without regard to the limitations imposed by your insurance coverage. In an effort to maintain this high quality of care, we would like to share with you some facts about dental insurance.
Learn More About Dental Insurance & How We Can Help
Your dental plan is a form of compensation provided by your employer. There are literally hundreds of plans, each unique in its scope and coverage. You can expect the carrier (insurance company) to reimburse you for a portion of our fee. That portion is determined by the contract between your employer and the insurance company. The higher the premium paid by your company, the more generous the reimbursement. Since most insurance carriers base their benefits on a schedule of average fees over diverse geographic and economic regions, our fees may be higher than their “reasonable and customary” fees. We urge you to be fully aware of the provisions of your dental plan.

Although we are not a party to the contractual arrangement between your insurance company and your employer, we do want to help you receive the maximum reimbursement to which you are entitled. As a convenience to you we will help you process your insurance claims in order for you to receive this maximum benefit. We will also gladly provide dental x-rays and a written diagnostic report should your insurance company have any questions about the services provided.

Please be assured that our office will do our very best to assist you in maximizing your insurance benefits for dental treatment. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding our handling of insurance matters.

Financial Policies

Payments

 In order to help us minimize bookkeeping costs, which in turn help us to keep our fees at their present level, we request payment at the time treatment is rendered. If you have dental insurance, we do request that unless you are paying in full, you assign benefits to us. We ask that you pay your estimated portion of the fee (including deductibles) at the time of service. Please do not hesitate to discuss your treatment plan, fees, or financing options with us.

Financing Options
Because a healthy mouth and a beautiful smile are essential to overall health and happiness, we want to do everything we can to help you achieve the smile you have always wanted. We offer financing through CareCredit, Lending Point, and GreenSky to give patients the option to make monthly payments instead of paying for everything at once.
